Camp NaNoWriMo Is Coming!

Are you prepared?

Camp NaNo isn’t as intense as National Novel Writing Month, way off in November. During Camp, you can set your own goals–customize everything. So if you want to edit, and keep track in hours, that’s okay! Or if you maybe only want to attempt 25,000 words instead of 50,000, awesome!!

Either way, get writing. Because nothing good will happen if you just sit around waiting for inspiration. It’s time to dig into the trenches, and Camp is the perfect opportunity!

Also, not sure if you’ve heard of the Reverse NaNo method, but I tried it last November with unprecedented success! It operates on the assumption that you aim for higher word counts in the beginning of the month, when motivation and inspiration are at an all-time high! Then you work your way down, so by the last day, you’re only writing 1 word.

That’s right, you heard me. 😉

It’s incredibly helpful for people who hit that mid-month slump… which is almost all of us, right? With the Reverse NaNo method, you don’t really have a mid-month slump–by that point, you’ve already done like, 3/4 of the work! So no big deal if you want to take a couple days off.

No matter what method you choose, just make sure you PARTICIPATE! You can’t win if you don’t try.
